The ranch was developed by Swiss settlers in the 1860's. Today it consists of two ranches about 3 1/2 miles apart. The main ranch originally designated as Buena Vista Valley Ranch derived its water from Cottonwood Canyon. The Swiss settlers dug a ditch down to the ranch which came to be known as the Swiss ditch. The second ranch called the Strief Ranch derived its water from Indian Canyon. When we acquired the two ranches in 1983 we simply combined the two under the name Buena Vista Valley Ranches. Since we acquired the ranch we have bought two more parcels bringing the total acreage to approximately 1900 acres.
NOTE: This Ranch has been sold, and is no longer available, however there is still some property with water rights and some equipment available. Go to Land for Sale and Equipment for Sale.
